Background
IronPort's Virus Outbreak Filters protects customers within the critical period between the first exploit of a virus outbreak and the release of an AV signature. During the recent Yabe variant outbreak, Troj_Yabe.D, Outbreak Filters users were protected 3 hours and 14 minutes before an AV signature was available from any of the major AV vendors*. Troj_Yabe.D is a trojan horse that usually arrives as an attachment to spammed email messages. If the attachment is opened, Troj_Yabe.D inserts malicious code onto the infected user's PC that allows hackers to remotely access and control the infected machine.
