Cisco pays $830 million for anti-spam company IronPort

Cisco, the networking company, announced that it was buying IronPort Systems, the e-mail security group, for $830 million in cash and stock. IronPort, a private Californian group, sells e-mail scanning technology, including a product that filters junk e-mails for links to malicious websites.
