Senior Network Manager

Job Description:

The Senior Network Manager is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, organization, and operation of the company's voice and data networks. Analyzes the needs of departments and establishes priorities for network design and implementation to develop new and/or modify the company's networks and applications. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, Deploy, Manage, and Administer Networking Systems including internet services, firewalls, routers, switches, Windows servers, Linux servers, Citrix servers, VmWare and security systems in support of a multiple office global architecture.
  • Individual will perform hands-on support of production systems including networking LAN/WAN, internal/external security systems, email, Citrix, VmWare and remote access systems.
  • Responsible for the daily monitoring of the network and security appliances.
  • Monitors and reports on network and system capacity utilization.
  • Applies continuous improvement techniques to ensure the network and security infrastructure attains maximum performance, security and availability.
  • Appropriately prioritizes LAN/WAN faults, then diagnoses and resolves problems.
  • Ensures that the LAN/WAN environment remains secure and appropriate recovery and redundancy issues are addressed.
  • Required to carry a cellular device and be on call outside of normal work hours.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Provide management, administration and support for Active Directory and Domain Controllers.
  • Provide management, administration and support for Exchange 2003.
  • Provide management, administration and support of Cisco firewalls series PIX 520, Pix 515.
  • Provide management, administration and support of Cisco routers series 65xx, 46xx, 3700, 3600, 2600; must have considerable depth with routing protocols.
  • Provide management, administration and support of Cisco VPN series 3500 & 3000.
  • Provide management, administration and support of Network Appliance SAN.
  • Provide management, administration and support for network related systems - DNS, DHCP, WINS, NTP, etc.
  • Provide management, administration and support for Citrix MetaFrame XP and Citrix Presentation Server.
  • Provide management and support for internet services and related systems.
  • Provide management and support for all security components within the environment including web-based security.
  • Provide design, management and support of interconnectivity between multiple national and international locations.
  • Manage and support SOX compliance activities for Network systems.
  • Setup and provide support for VPN communications.
  • Setup and provide support for SSL based communications.
  • Setup and provide support for Shoretel VOIP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals.
  • Strong knowledge of VPN fundamentals.
  • Strong knowledge in security systems and methods.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in local and wide area networking and communications including; all forms of networking media and SPT, PVST, IGMP, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP-II, MPLS, VoIP etc
  • Strong knowledge and expertise of telecommunications protocols and concepts (PSTN, VOIP, H323, SIP, MGCP, etc.) a plus
  • Strong knowledge of wireless technologies (802.11, WiFi, GSM, CDMA, EDGE, etc.) a plus
  • Strong knowledge and expertise of IPsec and client virtual private networks, certificate authorities, one time password technologies, 802.1x, VMPS, Security Event Monitoring and other auditing, authentication and authorization mechanisms and systems.
  • Must interface with corporate networking counterparts and participate in corporate networking projects.
  • Must possess good hardware, operating system and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must possess good project management and organizational skills.
  • 10-15 years of experience in related field.
  • Undergraduate Degree in Related Field.

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • CISCO Certified preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified preferred.
