Celebrated Entrepreneurial Mentor and Silicon Valley Leader, Audrey MacLean, Joins IronPort Board
IronPort's Market Opportunity and Industry Leadership Entice Seasoned Expert

IronPort® Systems Inc., the leading Internet gateway security provider, today announced that Audrey MacLean has joined its board of directors. Audrey MacLean is well known in Silicon Valley as a mentor to entrepreneurs with a unique track record for entrepreneurial success as a founder, CEO, seed investor and board member. She has been on Forbes' Midas Touch list and named by BusinessWeek as one of the 50 most influential business women in America.
MacLean joins board members: Bob Kavner, Chairman and former CEO of AT&T's Multimedia Products and Services Group; Robert Thomas, President and CEO, Infoblox and former President and CEO of NetScreen Technologies; Bob Ackerman, co-founder of Allegis Capital; Doug Carlisle, Managing Director of Menlo Ventures; Scott Banister, co-founder and CTO of IronPort and founder of ListBot; and Scott Weiss, CEO and co-founder of IronPort.

MacLean was one of the founders of Network Equipment Technologies, which went public in 1987. She later co-founded and served as CEO of Adaptive, which merged with NET in 1993. Building on her own entrepreneurial success, she has been instrumental in helping to launch and grow successful companies through her work as a mentor capitalist and professor of entrepreneurship. Audrey is a Consulting Associate Professor in the School of Engineering at Stanford University and on the board of the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership.
Companies MacLean has seed funded, which have gone public, include: Pure Software, Pete's Brewing Company, AdForce, dsl.net and Selectica.
