IronPort Systems and Industry Leaders Propel DomainKeys Identified Mail Adoption

Yahoo!, Dell, Army Knowledge Online, Universal Music, Aurora Health Care, Unesco, Cablevision and others Driving Authentication Momentum

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - April 19, 2006 - IronPort® Systems Inc., the leader in gateway security, announced today deployment of DomainKeys technology at key customer sites, underscoring the value and benefit to companies of all types.

Email forgery and phishing threaten all organizations that rely upon email to communicate with their customers. DomainKeys provides a mechanism for email senders to digitally sign their messages and for email receivers to use the digital signature to verify the legitimacy of the message. Forgeries that do not pass verification can be blocked from end-users.

"The continued momentum of DomainKeys demonstrates the importance of email authentication technologies for all organizations. IronPort appliances provide industry-leading performance and ease of use for deploying DomainKeys. Unlike manually deployed open source software solutions that require periodic upgrades and complex command line configuration, our Web-based interface allows customers to deploy DomainKeys with the 'flick of a switch'," said Tom Gillis, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at IronPort Systems.

"Yahoo! Mail has been signing its outbound email with DomainKeys for more than a year, and is currently receiving more than a billion DomainKeys signed messages each day. As the world's largest webmail provider, we are excited about the benefits and the growing momentum of this powerful email authentication technology," said Miles Libbey, Anti-Spam Product Manager at Yahoo! Mail. "We see a very large number of DomainKeys signed messages from IronPort appliances and we salute IronPort's leadership in this area."

DomainKeys Deployment Yields Immediate ROI

"Compromised accounts due to email forgery substantially effect online businesses. DomainKeys technology provides an immediate ROI by reducing the financial impact of clean up costs due to phishing and email spoofing," continued Gillis.

Stopping Forgery Protects Brand Equity

Dell is a global leader in technology. One of Dell's keys to success is its direct business model, which is leveraged by the use of email. "We use email extensively to communicate with our customers, and it is essential that the Dell brand be protected. DomainKeys technology helps us secure a communication channel that is core to our business and also extends our leadership in the technology industry," said Larry Kiernan, Vice President of Global Technology Engineering and Services at Dell.

Protecting a Large User Base

The dynamic nature of military communications requires the ability to make modifications and allow rapid adoption of security technologies. Army Knowledge Online, responsible for the email of 1.8 million service members, was able to deploy DKIM quickly to increase the security of communications.

Authentication Technologies Ensure Communication To Customers

Universal Music is a leading media brand utilizing email as a means to keep consumers informed of new products and events. "DomainKeys helps us improve deliverability of mail and ensure that our artists can stay in touch with their fans and reliably receive timely information in their inbox. The mission critical nature of email makes it essential to deploy authentication technologies such as DomainKeys to maintain close contact with our customers," said Dima Volovik, Vice President of Consumer Marketing Technology at Universal Music Group.

Broad Adoption of Authentication Technologies

DomainKeys adoption spans beyond merely e-commerce, technology and media companies. Aurora Health Care is a nationally recognized leader in efforts to improve the quality of health care. Employing more than 25,000 people, Aurora Health Care relies heavily on email to manage prescriptions and patient records across 94 clinics. Aurora Health Care's medical group has received a national award for excellence from the American Medical Group Association in recognition of its accomplishments in the areas of quality, service and innovation. "Simply put, email represents the cornerstone to ensuring quality of service in our business. Deploying innovative technology, such as DomainKeys, allows us to ensure we are doing all we can to fortify our communication system and protect our patients' information," said Dan Lukas, Lead Security Architect at Aurora Health Care.
